If you're new to this you will need to learn a few basic principles, one is how to cut and paste something into your WebPages or anything else for that matter it is a simple skill and once mastered will help you to complete several tasks that require the use of the cut and paste exercise, our counter is just one example of this and you will need to cut and paste this code we supply you on to your page in order for your counter to work, this code as many others is best done this way in a text editor as most HTML editors will tamper with the code and subsequently your counter will not work…

So to begin with lets get the basic principal of doing this
"cut and paste" exercise…

Below are two text boxes BOX 1 with text in it and BOX 2 is blank, what we are going to do is transfer the text from the first box to the second box by the cut and paste method used all the time….

Step1:
With your mouse cursor over the text in BOX 1 click and hold down the left hand mouse button and move the mouse over the text within that box, as you do this you will see the text in BOX 1 become highlighted usually in blue, when you have selected the text as little or as much as you want let go of the left mouse button…

You will notice that the text you have selected remains highlighted…

BOX 1...

Step2:
now this text is highlighted you need to cut it from BOX 1 ready for pasting, so hover the cursor with your mouse over the highlighted text in BOX 1 and right click your mouse "just once" and a small menu will appear next to the cursor, as any other menu run your mouse down the selections within that menu and select cut….

If all has gone well so far the text in BOX 1 has now disappeared and you are ready to paste…

BOX 2...

Step3:
Now hover the mouse cursor over BOX 2 and left click just once on your mouse to put the cursor into BOX 2 as if you were going to write something within that box with your keyboard, whilst the mouse is still hovering over BOX 2 then right click again to bring up our little menu and this time select paste on that menu…

If all has gone well you should now have the original text from BOX 1 now
displayed in BOX 2…

That is the basic principle of cut and paste, try it out a few times to see if you have got the hang of it, you can cut and paste most documents on your computer, i.e. your Email for instance or notepad or any document you can usually type text into this becomes very useful if you just want to paste some information from another document into an Email your sending your friend so experiment with it…
