The Alexa Toolbar, by California-based Alexa Internet, owned in turn by Amazon, is classed as a Browser Helper Object, BHO, and can be used to measure a site statistics. It is used in the Internet Industry community for displaying a rank, indicating how popular a website is.  Webmasters often use the Alexa toolbar to show the amount of visitors a web site receives. Alexa Toolbar also comes with a popup window blocker, a Internet search facility, links to Amazon .com and to Alexa .com and information about the Alexa ranking of the webpage you are visiting. As well as links to other webpages Alexa thinks are relevant to the content of the website you're browsing. The Alexa toolbar is only compatible with Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer.

Alexa toolbar collects information on Internet web site usage. This information then allows Alexa calculate an approximated amount of visitors and to deduce and provide statistics on web site traffic and visitors and work out related Traffic Rank.

Webmasters have the problem of trying to find out how many visitors my web site has, that have the Alexa Toolbar installed.

The statistics for how many visitors and traffic my web site gets with Alexa Toolbar installed is in Systems/Toolbars form Counter Stats in your Control Panel.
