The IT consulting company AMS, in February 2004, awarded Mozilla Firebird (later to become Firefox) a Tier 1 open source software product categorisation, equitant to Best of Breed. This meant AMS believed Firebird was a stable, almost risk-free and technically well-built Internet web browser.
